At the February 27, 2019 meeting of the Mayor & Council, the Borough approved the creation of a Redevelopment Agency. This follows a meeting in Trenton at the offices of the Department of Community Affairs at which the Local Finance Board gave its unanimous approval and support for the new Red Bank Redevelopment Agency. The new Agency represents the Borough's smart approach to being proactive with respect to redevelopment. The Red Bank Redevelopment Agency is a positive step in professionalizing and synchronizing efforts to maximize our economic opportunities and affordable housing to ensure the long term success and prosperity of the borough.
The Mayor & Council desire to appoint residents to this newly created agency so that the Borough is represented by a diverse, cross-section of the community who have the best interest of Red Bank in mind. Appointments are expected to be made on March 27, 2019 at a regular scheduled meeting of the Mayor & Council. The Borough invites interested residents to submit a brief application in order to be considered for an appointment as a Commissioner of the Red Bank Redevelopment Agency. The ideal Commissioner may have experience and knowledge in any of the following areas: redevelopment, building/construction, economic development, finance, municipal government, land use, planning, or engineering. The Borough thanks all interested residents who volunteer and apply, but asks for your patience and understanding as not everyone who applies may be appointed as there are only seven initial vacancies. The application process ends on March 21, 2019.
