A streetscape project to improve English Plaza and the adjacent White Street begins today. The streetscape project will improve an area in downtown Red Bank, NJ known as English Plaza and White Street. The essence of the streetscape will create a pedestrian boulevard from Riverside Gardens Park on West Front Street through to Monmouth Street. When completed, all users–pedestrians, bicyclists, and drivers–will have improved safety, new sidewalks and lighting, additional parking spots, and an aesthetically pleasing area to access businesses, shops and restaurants.
The project is a collaborative effort jointly funded by the Borough of Red Bank and Red Bank RiverCenter.
Construction is expected to take approximately three months to complete. The construction schedule for the streetscape project begins on White Street and will proceed to English Plaza. This schedule is for planning purposes and will be adjusted if the weather or unforeseen circumstances require adjustment. Weekly updates will be posted indicating the areas scheduled to be closed on a particular day. Changes to the weekly schedule will be posted as needed. Social media will be used to send out updates and to encourage people to get details on this website. A dedicated website has been created to provide more information and updates.
