As of July 23, 2019, 12:30 p.m., Jersey Central Power & Light restored power to a majority of Red Bank customers and approximately 105 customers are still without power in Red Bank. JCP&L is providing free water and ice to customers still without power at the Foodtown (362 Broad Street, Red Bank, NJ). Due to widespread outages, JCP&L has not provided an estimated restoration time. For more information and updates, visit the Jersey Central Power & Light website at http://outages.firstenergycorp.com/nj.html
As always, to report power outages, contact the electric company by visiting FirstEnergy/JCP&L or call 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877). Power outages should not be reported to the police. However, downed wires should immediately be called in to the electric company and police/fire departments. Customers should never go near a downed power line.
Due to the extreme weather conditions, the Borough of Red Bank is scheduling an additional pickup of storm-related vegetative waste and brush. Residents may place this debris curbside up until Monday, July 29th and Public Works will canvass the borough until Friday, August 2nd. Normal collection schedule and policy enforcement will resume after Friday, August 2nd.
The Borough is aware of a road closure on Prospect Avenue caused by a downed utility pole. Until JCP&L can respond, Prospect Avenue will remain closed from Harding Road to John Street.
