The Borough of Red Bank has been informed that Jersey Central Power & Light crews are in town working to restore power service. Crews have planned a forced power outage in the area of Prospect Avenue starting on July 24, 2019, 6:30 p.m., in an effort to restore remaining Red Bank customers without power. The outage may last up to 24 hours. This outage is necessary in order to de-energize downed lines, remove fallen trees, re-install utility poles, and place new power lines in service. Full restoration updates, visit http://outages.firstenergycorp.com/nj.html.
As always, to report power outages, contact the electric company by visiting FirstEnergy/JCP&L or call 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877). Power outages should not be reported to the Borough. However, downed wires should immediately be called in to the electric company and police/fire departments. Customers should never go near a downed power line.
Due to the extreme weather conditions, the Borough of Red Bank is scheduling an additional pickup of storm-related vegetative waste and brush. Residents may place this debris curbside up until Monday, July 29th and Public Works will canvass the borough until Friday, August 2nd. Normal collection schedule and policy enforcement will resume after Friday, August 2nd.
