As part of the annual Borough of Red Bank Road Improvement Program, construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 12, 2019. The Fiscal Year 2018 project includes improvements on Tilton Avenue, McLaren Street, a portion of Grant Place, and a portion of Mechanic Street. This project is funded through a bond ordinance adopted on November 28, 2018 by the Mayor and Council. The scope of work includes milling and asphalt resurfacing of over 3,500 linear feet of roadway, concrete curb ramp upgrades at various intersections to ensure ADA compliance, and crosswalk improvements.
The project was advertised for public bidding and four bids were received on June 19, 2019. The lowest responsible bid of $618,586.60 was submitted by Black Rock Enterprises, LLC. of Old Bridge, New Jersey. The Mayor and Council adopted Resolution 19-188 on July 24, 2019 to award the contract. Engineering and construction administration is being performed by CME Associates.
Barring unforeseen circumstances and inclement weather conditions, the construction is expected to take 43 days with a tentative completion date of October 9, 2019.
