The New Jersey Department of Transportation announced the award of a $215,000 grant to Red Bank. The grant award, as part of the NJDOT FY2020 Municipal Aid Grant Program, will assist the Borough with the rehabilitation of 0.8 miles of roadway on Spring Street from East Front Street to Ambassador Drive. The total cost of the resurfacing project is estimated to be $1.1 million and will include milling and paving, concrete work for certain sidewalks, driveways, and curbs, and stormwater run-off drainage improvements. This project will be scheduled in the Borough of Red Bank's 2020-2021 Road Improvement Program.
Since 2018, the Borough of Red Bank has applied for many grants in an effort to generate additional revenue for municipal improvements without increasing taxes. With this latest announcement, the total value of grants awarded is approximately $1.78 million.
