The Borough of Red Bank would like to advise our community that as of March 20, 2020, there is one (1) official positive case of the COVID-19 virus among Red Bank residents.  This information is based on official reporting by the New Jersey Department of Health and the Monmouth County Regional Health Commission.  For more information, visit the New Jersey COVID-19 Dashboard at https://www.state.nj.us/health/cd/topics/covid2019_dashboard.shtml

As the State & Monmouth County positive count increases daily, it is a likely scenario that one of us will know someone firsthand who has been infected with the COVID-19 virus.  There is no reason to panic but there is reason to be prepared and follow the steps to prepare and protect yourself and your family.  For more information, visit the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html or call 1-800-222-1222.

The Borough of Red Bank Mayor & Council, Administration, Office of Emergency Management, Police Department and Fire Department continue to monitor the developing situation involving positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County.  We would like to remind everyone of the importance of following the State, County and Municipal directives and orders concerning social distancing to mitigate further spread of COVID-19 in New Jersey.

The Borough of Red Bank Municipal Building will remain closed to the public through April 3, 2020.  All municipal employees will continue to report to work and will serve the public by telephone, e-mail, regular mail or fax. Visit the municipal website at www.redbanknj.org for contact information for various municipal offices and employees as well as online services.

Overtime parking enforcement has been suspended, but other parking rules remain in effect.

Red Bank’s restaurants and retailers give so much to the community each and every year. They’ve donated food, countless volunteer hours and have raised thousands of dollars for organizations throughout Red Bank and Monmouth County.  Support them by purchasing a gift card or visit www.redbanktakeout.com to find a list of open restaurants that are still providing delivery or takeout service.

The Borough Council’s regularly scheduled meeting for Wednesday, March 25, 2020, 6:30 p.m. will still occur.  The Borough is working to provide the public with digital/telephonic access to the meeting.  This meeting agenda will be modified to include only essential items necessary for the continuation of government, including the consideration of a resolution to extend the temporary budget and two resolutions for the confirmation of previously planned police officer hirings.  An agenda and participation information will be published on the Borough website on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

Boroughwide spring yard cleaning, originally scheduled to start April, will now begin on Monday, March 23, 2020.  Public Works crews will canvass the borough continuously through the month of April and normal alternate-side collection will resume in May. Residents are asked to help crews by containerizing their brush and that yard waste that is not containerized shall not be placed closer than 10 feet from any storm drain inlet.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is the respiratory illness caused by a new virus that first emerged in December 2019.  The NJ Department of Health (NJDOH) is leading the state’s response to COVID-19 and is working closely with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. For up-to-date information and recommendations, please visit the NJDOH coronavirus webpage (https://www.nj.gov/health/cd/topics/ncov.shtml) and the CDC coronavirus webpage (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/index.html).
