[ARCHIVED] Borough Assembles "Downtown Red Bank Reopens Committee"

Borough of Red Bank, New Jersey

Borough of Red Bank officials eagerly await the cautious and gradual reopening of our State as part of Governor Murphy’s "Road Back" plan.  Stage 2, the next stage, includes expanded retail and outdoor dining, which the Governor suggested could return in "a matter of weeks."  With each Executive Order by the Governor, Red Bank officials work cooperatively with our business community to find ways to safely facilitate guidelines and direction from the State.

In anticipation of the next stage, a "Downtown Red Bank Reopens Committee" has been assembled to plan for an accelerated, flexible strategy that will creatively expand outdoor capacity for restaurants and retail sales.  This forward thinking group will review opportunities for the use of sidewalks, parking lots, on-street parking spaces, parks, and other outdoor spaces.  This could include street closures for the creation of new outdoor plazas and seating areas.  The Committee will also review draft guidance from the NJ Division of Alcohol and Beverage Control that may allow establishments with liquor licenses to extend their premises.

The members of the "Downtown Red Bank Reopens Committee" include representatives from leading business organizations, retailers, restaurateurs, arts & entertainment industry, finance industry, and municipal officials.
