The following is the 15th update from the Borough of Red Bank concerning the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Borough of Red Bank Mayor & Council, Administration, Office of Emergency Management, Police Department and Fire Department continue to monitor the developing situation of the COVID-19 pandemic.  As of June 15, 2020, the Borough has been advised that there are 8,905 positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County.  In Red Bank, the total number of positive cases to date is 236.  We would like to remind everyone of the importance of following the State, County and Municipal directives and orders concerning social distancing to slow further spread of COVID-19 in New Jersey.  Follow the steps and guidelines from the CDC at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html to prepare and protect yourself and your family. • The Borough of Red Bank Municipal Building will remain closed to the public through July 3, 2020.  All municipal employees continue to report to work and are serving the public by telephone, e-mail, regular mail or fax. Visit the Borough website at www.redbanknj.org for contact information for various municipal offices and employees as well as online services.  We anticipate a gradual, limited re-opening to the public to begin in July starting with appointment-only visits to maintain compliance with capacity restrictions.  More details will be announced later this month.
• The next scheduled Council Regular Meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, 6:30 p.m.  The following meeting is a scheduled Council Workshop Meeting to be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, 6:30 p.m.  Because of the restrictions on public gatherings that impact the ability of the Borough of Red Bank to meet in the traditional manner of gathering at the municipal building, the Mayor & Council will conduct this meeting using electronic means that will allow for the public to participate.  Participation information is published on the Borough website (www.redbanknj.org).  The Workshop Meeting Agenda has been published at https://www.redbanknj.org/AgendaCenter

• Red Bank is reopening!  Many businesses have opened in compliance with recently issued Executive Orders.  A number of regulations have been temporarily relaxed to help restaurants expand outdoor dining and local businesses to set up outdoor activity.  Additionally, outdoor plazas will start this Thursday, June 18th with temporary closures of Broad Street on Thursdays through Saturdays and Monmouth Street on Sundays.  Everyone is encouraged to visit and support Red Bank businesses (safely and responsibly) to assist with the economic recovery of our community.  These businesses are an essential part of what makes Red Bank great - they employ many local workers, they support our community organizations, they help our property values and tax rate, and they improve our quality of life.
• Parks remain open but only for passive recreational use with proper social distancing. Face coverings are required when social distancing is difficult to maintain.  Parks facilities, including tennis, will reopen on Monday, June 22, 2020 as permitted by the State according to Executive Order 149.  The Recreation Department will be announcing plans for Summer Camp to begin in July.
• JCP&L field crews will be in town during the week of June 22 (and possibly until July 3rd) to perform field surveys. They will have 3 consultants in standard protective equipment working between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
• NJ Transit will be closing a portion of Chestnut Street (West Street to Transit Lot) from June 24 through July 2 (except Sunday) for construction at the railroad crossing.
• Construction on White Street continues.  The water infrastructure improvements will be completed this week and sewer infrastructure improvements will follow for the second phase and also last approximately two weeks.  White Street remains open for eastbound traffic and access to business will be available.  This project will also increase parking, improve safety, and complement the aesthetic enhancements of the recently completed English Plaza project.  Updates will continue to be provided throughout the project.
• Monmouth County ACTS has published a Community Resource Guide in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to provide assistance for seniors in a wide range of information and contacts for food delivery, pharmacies, caregiver support, financial assistance and so much more.  The COVID-10 Community Resource Guide is available on www.MonmouthACTS.org/covid19
• NJ Mental Health Cares, the state’s behavioral health information and referral service, is offering help to people dealing with anxiety and worry related to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. New Jerseyans can call 1-866-202-HELP (4357) for free, confidential support. NJ Mental Health Cares will be answered from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week by live trained specialists.
