The Borough of Red Bank has contracted with Montana Construction to test pit approximately 1,000 properties. The purpose of this action is to identify lead and galvanized water services. This will be followed by the replacement of those services identified as being in need under the Lead Pipe Replacement Program. The first step of this process is to have the underground utilities marked out to prevent damage to existing infrastructure.
Residents will see the contractor out in the affected area painting temporary marks on the ground and placing small flags in grass areas. This is a routine procedure during upcoming construction projects and is not cause for concern. The flags should not be removed or disturbed except by the contractor.
Thanl you for your anticipated cooperation.
