The Fall Fire Hydrant Flushing Program will begin on Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM and is scheduled to take three days to complete.

This annual program involves systematically opening fire hydrant valves to allow water to flow through the pipes. The process helps to:

  • Enhance water quality by flushing sediment from the main line pipes.
  • Verify the proper operation of hydrants and valves.
  • Ensure hydrants are fully operational in case of a fire emergency.

What to Expect:

During the flushing program, you may experience a temporary drop in water pressure or discolored water. If this occurs, please follow these steps:

  1. Shut off the tap immediately.
  2. Wait several minutes, then check the clarity of the water by running cold water only for a few minutes. Allow fresh water to circulate into your pipes.
  3. Avoid running hot water or washing laundry until the water runs clear from the tap.

The Borough thanks you for your patience and understanding during this important maintenance process.
