Wastewater Spill

Crews have been on site of a wastewater sewer discharge in the NJ Transit parking lot due to a 3rd party drilling company striking a Red Bank force main. This action has continued to result in sewage being discharge into the nearby storm drains. Emergency crews have been activated to mitigate this situation ASAP and will work until the issue is rectified.

It is STRONGLY advised that all residents and visitors refrain from engaging in river activities or consuming any shellfish or finfish in the area of the SH 35 Bridge and nearby riverbanks until additional water monitoring can be conducted.

We also urge residents and visitors to avoid the area of the NJ Transit Lot #1 at Monmouth Str and Burrowes Str.

Proper notifications have been made to the NJ Department of Environmental Protection.
