Historic Resources Inventory

The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) seeks to ensure that deserving buildings, structures, sites, and districts receive appropriate recognition as historic resources.  Towards that end, the HPC maintains an Historic Resources Inventory.  Candidates for inclusion are scrutinized according to a standardized protocol that involves both research and surveys.  Whereas research occurs behind the scenes and provides historical context, surveys are conducted in the field and yield raw data pertaining to present condition.  The Historic Resources Inventory represents a work product, where meritorious candidates receive proper recognition within the Borough, which in turn may lead to recognition at the county, state or federal level.
